Also known as a flamingo flower or a painter's palette, it will add a touch of elegance to your indoor space. Did you know?! Your Anthurium will also help to reduce the amount of nasty chemicals, pollutants & toxins in your home giving you healthier, cleaner air!

How to care for your Anthurium

Light

Anthuriums love a bright position filled with indirect sunlight. Try & keep your Anthurium out of direct sunlight as this can scorch the foliage and harm your plant. The less indirect light they get, the less likely they will bloom.

Water

Allow the top inch of soil to dry before watering your Anthurium. Simply stick your finger into the soil, about an inch, and if it feels dry then give it a water. Always water your Anthurium thoroughly until the water runs from the bottom drainage holes in the pot. Try not to over water your plant or allow the Anthurium to sit in water as this will rot the roots and harm your plant significantly. However, don't allow the soil to completely dry out, as this can also lead to problems! Don't forget Anthuriums grow in rainforests where the humidity is a lot higher. Don't fret! Grab a water mister whilst you're buying your Anthurium & you can up the humidity to make it even happier. Otherwise pop your Anthurium onto a saucer of damp pebbles or damp hydrolica clay pebbles. The water will then evaporate upwards humidifying your plant!

Temperature

Anthuriums tend to grow best when they are not too hot or too cold. Try & aim for a maintained temperature between 15 degrees celsius & 32 degrees celsius. Keep your Anthurium away from hot & cold drafts. This meas away from doors & windows, i'm afraid! Radiators are also a big no as this will dry the plant out. Keep misting it to up the humidity, especially in the winter when you have the heating on.

Blooming

Your Anthurium could live for years & bloom time after time! The flowers them selves can last for more than three months & will produce new blooms all year round if given enough care & enough sunlight. If you find your Anthurium isn't producing flowers, it might be a little upset. It is very important to ensure it's getting enough indirect sunlight, so make sure you place it in the correct spot! Feed during the growing season with high potash feed every two to three weeks to help it continue to bloom successfully.
